The Associate position is a junior consulting staff position open to professionals with a minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or other related subjects interested in claims and disputes to assist our quantum experts. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within the organisation. The work of an Associate is mostly quantitative in nature, the projects are global and wide ranging from residential, to commercial, to infrastructure and energy projects. You will have the opportunity to work with highly reputable, specialist expert witnesses, recognised by Lexology and learn from leaders in the market.
Responsibilities
- Maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by project needs.
- Assist in the analysis and assessment of claims and counterclaims such as variations, loss and expense claims, termination claims, liquidated damages and disruption.
- Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
- Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Participate in group practice meetings and travel as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in the areas of engineering, construction and quantity surveying or other related subject.
- Proven capability with MS Excel and/or other analytical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS Access, MS SQL Server). A desire to expand those capabilities is required.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body i.e ICES or RICS.
- Excellent oral and verbal communications skills.
- Good attention to details, analytical and problem-solving skills.
