Sr. Payroll Specialist

Position Summary:
Duties will include but are not limited to:
The Senior Payroll Specialist will either take the lead on or be heavily involved in all the following:
  • Payroll processing
  • Focused on US and assist as back-up for international.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of time information from the timekeeping system.
  • Process monthly expert fees, bonus payments, and other special compensation.
  • Ensure payroll integrity through audit reports, data analysis and collaboration with other team members.
  • Investigate, reconcile and correct payroll data issues, discrepancies, and errors.
  • Enter and audit payroll batches for various special earnings.
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications.
  • Timely and accurately prepare on-demand payments for terminations, retro-adjustments and other disbursements determined to be necessary for immediate distribution.
  • Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records and team member information in a confidential manner.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
  •  Coordinate payroll funding requests with Treasury.

Tax

  • Assist with registering states for payroll taxes.
  • Set up employee tax jurisdiction for multiple state and local tax.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and international tax and wage & hour laws, regulations or guidelines.
  • Assist with year-end W-2s processing.

Accounting and other

  • Reconcile general ledger (GL) with regard to payroll transactions.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries including PTO accrual.
  • Proper mapping of income and deduction codes.
  • Liaise between payroll and other departments.
  • Assist with documentation of various payroll processes and procedures.
  • Provide payroll support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Ad hoc projects and requests  as assigned.
  • Contribute to the organization in a professional manner with a positive attitude.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (CPP a plus)
  • At least 8 years of payroll experience.
  • At least 2 years of payroll tax experience.
  • Workday or similar enterprise software experience a must.
  • Global Payroll Experience preferred – Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus.
  • Excel expert – advance skills including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups and Data validation
  • Excellent communication, exceptional customer service and project management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Deadline-focused and exhibits an analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability.
Salary Range: $85-100k
