BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position can be based in BRG’s Washington DC, New York, Tampa, Boston, or Chicago offices. This is a hybrid role and will require working with colleagues in the office three days a week, on average. Domestic travel to client locations is required.

Our Healthcare Governance, Compliance, and Ethics experts provide strategic advice to financial sponsors, boards of directors, and senior management teams competing in the highly regulated healthcare industry to develop optimal governance models and to advise them in the development of compliance and ethics and quality of care programs. Often, our engagements occur in growth stage, restructuring, and turnaround settings. We provide independent compliance and ethics program assessments that include comprehensive work plans to accelerate the program’s fulfillment of stakeholder expectations. We also provide Corporate Integrity Agreement support services, including serving as the board’s compliance expert or independent review organization.        
       
The Role       
      
BRG is currently seeking experienced healthcare compliance professionals to advise clients on the development, implementation and assessment of compliance and ethics programs; the design and successful operation of effective governance models in all segments of the healthcare industry; and the negotiation and implementation of Corporate Integrity and Systems Improvement Agreements.      
        
This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with excellent analytical abilities, strong organizational skills, exemplary communication skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams, and key responsibilities include quality control, development and presentation of client materials, extensive client interaction and management of existing client relationships, industry research, and helping to drive the growth of the practice.

Responsibilities       
  • Participate in and perform information gathering through client interviews, document collection and review, and research related to healthcare regulatory and other related topics;
  • Develop client solutions, including advice; assessment reports; blueprints and work plans; governance and program resources for board members and corporate leaders; and compliance and ethics program materials;
  • Delegate assignments to junior staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness and accuracy;
  • Engage in client communications regarding results and work product;
  • Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives and office functions such as staff training and recruiting; and
  • Participate actively and impactfully in the team’s Thought Leadership initiatives as it pursues relentlessly a position of preeminence in the marketplace. 
Basic Qualifications       
  • An undergraduate degree with a distinguished scholastic record is required; a JD is strongly preferred. An MSJ will also be considered.
  • One to three years of work experience in a federal or state agency regulating healthcare or enforcing the healthcare legal and regulatory framework; a law firm healthcare regulatory practice; or a healthcare corporate compliance and/or legal department;
  • Significant experience working with laws, regulations, and administrative rules addressing fraud, waste, and abuse in the healthcare sector;
  • Solid understanding of government-sponsored healthcare program requirements;
  • Deep familiarity with compliance and ethics program guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Justice; the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and state Medicaid agencies;
  • A professional interest in evolving best business practices in the areas of organizational values, culture and governance, and compliance and ethics program design and operational effectiveness;
  • A commitment to exceptional client service, including the creation of presentation materials and reports that are destined for board rooms and C-Suite executives;
  • Intellectual curiosity and attention to detail;
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to synthesize detailed, complex information from public and company sources into clear and straightforward documents and deliverables;
  • A collaborative mindset and a demonstrated ability to work successfully on a multi-disciplinary team; and

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 per year.
