The Compensation and Benefits Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (health and wellness, retirement plans, etc.) in addition to conducting market and internal research to provide data-driven recommendations on compensation programs to ensure the organization remains competitive. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork, and supporting firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment.  This role is based in Washington, DC with the option of being hybrid or primarily remote, but must be available to be in office as needed.  Only candidates based in the DC area will be considered.   
   
Duties will include but not limited to:   
   
Benefits   
  • Support annual open enrollment process including reviewing communications and ensuring renewal changes are reflected in open enrollment materials, Summary Plan Descriptions, etc.
  • Maintain records of current and new participants in our benefits programs in our HRIS.
  • Provide day-to-day processing and operational support and serve as the first point of contact for benefits inquiries coming from employees and other internal stakeholders.
  • Counsel employees on benefits policies, practices, programs, and guidelines.
  • Oversee the administration of all company leave of absences in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations.  This includes working very closely with the payroll team.
  • Ongoing administration of qualified life events (QLE).
  • Reconcile payments to carriers and work to coordinate payments with the Finance team in a timely manner.
  • Support implementation and administration of benefits programs.
  • Identify and resolve administrative problems related to certain benefits packages.
  • Assist with interpreting new and existing state and federal regulations and support updates to company procedures and policies as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Support the administration of the company’s 401(k) plan in partnership with internal teams (payroll, finance, legal, etc.) and external vendors.
  • Locations supported: North America, South America, EMEA, APAC
Compensation   
  • Advise on job description development, including job content, title, and qualifications to ensure consistency. Develop tools on writing job descriptions and compensation resources.
  • Conduct job evaluations to determine the appropriate job grade, title, FLSA status and compensation package, ensuring consistency across the company. This includes reviewing internal and external salary data, and benchmarking similar positions internally or among peers.
  • Analyze compensation data to provide recommendations to HR and Recruiting regarding appropriate compensation for new hires, promotional increases, etc.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze the final reports to recommend adjustments to compensation programs.
  • Develops analyses to aid in the annual compensation planning processes, as well as compensation-related projects.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of salary administration, compensation policies, and variable pay plans for salary administration including policy review and pay structure development.
  • Support the development of firm-wide job architecture and salary structure.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications   
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in related field.
  • 3+ years of employee benefits administration experience.
  • 3+ years of compensation experience.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, affecting employee benefits programs, such as the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Ability to explain benefits information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with compensation surveys and analyzing compensation.
  • Self-motivated and highly attentive to detail.
  • Ability to stay organized and track ongoing issues.
  • Customer service-oriented and comfortable working with individuals at all levels of the organization.
        Desired Qualifications   
        • Experience with Workday
        • Experience working with a global employee population
        • Professional designations such as PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP, CEBS, etc.
        • Experience at a consulting firm or other professional service-oriented company
            Candidate must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
