Overview

BRG experts provide sophisticated economic, financial, and analytical consulting services across a wide range of disciplines, including antitrust and competition policy, complex damages, finance, healthcare, intellectual property, restructuring, valuation, and workforce issues such as wage & hour and disparate impact. In addition, the firm assists clients in major industry sectors with compliance, business process improvement, and strategy consulting.

We are looking to add a junior staff level member who will work closely with experts to assist our clients in applying the principles of economics, statistics, accounting, and finance to address complex issues that arise in dispute resolution in areas such as antitrust and competition, intellectual property, labor and employment, and commercial damages. You will learn industry details and client business operations, and leverage quantitative data and qualitative research to answer questions specific to each project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into defensible positions using software packages such as SAS and Stata.
  • Develop and work with electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by project needs.
  • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review, and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public, and commercial databases).
  • Process, synthesize, summarize, and analyze large datasets across multiple sources and formats.
  • Review and synthesize produced documents, data, depositions, etc. and create summary work product.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to test theories and solve problems.
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed.
  • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree a plus from a reputable university in the area of economics, statistics, analytics, or a relevant field;
  • Minimum of two (2+) years of consulting industry experience;
  • Minimum of two (2+) years of experience with labor economics issues (e.g., wage & hour, disparate impact, independent contractor status, executive compensation, etc.) a plus; and
  • Proven capability with MS Excel and statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R). A desire to expand those capabilities is expected. Experience with relational database program(s) (e.g., MS SQL Server, MS Access, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata) is beneficial but not necessary.

Salary range: $75,000 to $155,000 per year.
